How will this affect my credit rating?

Nearly two years ago I cancelled my phone account. Although I was paying by DD, they didn't clear the balance wth the DD but referred it to a DCA. I complained and it eventually went to the Ombudsman.

Their decision is that, so long as I pay the outstanding balance this month, it will be recorded on my credit file that the debt is the result of a dispute that has now been settled. They say that this will not have a "disproportionate" adverse effect on my credit rating.

Can anybody explain how adverse this will be, as I resent the description of this as a debt in the first place. Thanks.
