  • Partner has received one of Ruthbridges unprofessional looking letters addressed to The Occupier......please telephone ra ra ra etc etc. Having done a quick google check I now know what they want and also how they behave.A loan was taken out Nov 2002 with Welcome Finance for £1500. Long complicated story but partner didn't take cheque from WF when in the office coz of 59%apr but they paid it into his bank account instead.... so he spent and never ever paid anything. Debt is now in the region of £4k - gonna try the statute barred letter. He doesn't think what he did was right but they kippered him when he was too young and stupid to understand - cash='d beer
  • So it doesn't get confused with someone else's troubles, you need to start your own thread. Just confuses it for people.
Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.
  • I have had dealings with DCAs in the past, and I find the best approach is to have some stock answers. Keep a pad by the phone, if it helps, with notes on what you are going to say.

Remember: they will say ANYTHING to you, so you should say ANYTHING to them.

You will find that when these muppets phone they will ask you to confirm your name and date of birth. I understand that this is a requirement. You should immediately say that you have recently been a victim of identity fraud and you will not give out personal information. Ask them to write to you. They'll whitter on for a few seconds, about how it's an important personal call, blah, blah, blah, but just thank them for their time and put down the phone.
The best way to save money is not to spend it.
