I saw a link to this company to get a free credit report. Has anyone used them and are they legit or are they trying to get my details?

I've used them without any problem. They give one report free per year and any extra they charge for.
You'll be suprised what they know about you already.

I've just registered and after requesting my report, I received an e-mail saying: "[FONT=trebuchet ms, verdana]Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we were unable to obtain your credit report from the credit reference agency we searched. It’s likely that lenders will also have this trouble when they try to search you. Your credit applications could be declined because of this."
I have no idea why, except that it is using the Call Credit agency, and that I've just had a credit application accepted...

It sounds like they are either a rubbish company, or they are setting you up for a payment.

You may get another email offering to "fix this problem", for a price.

I don't think this is a legit site. The original site http://annualcreditreport.com is for obtaining your free credit report if you live in the US. I think this an an impostor site playing off the same name.

It is a real site, i signed up in december 2006, and have a letter here from them dated 4th january 2007 with my security code on it.

I have just been to the site again and accessed my credit report again.

Everything is still OK.

As georgina said it is legit, I also use it.

What's the point of using annualcreditreport.co.uk? It's based on information from call credit, the worst of the uk credit reference agencies. You can get your call credit credit report free anyway. You can also get Experian and Equifax reports free. whichcreditreport.co.uk have a good comparison of the three credit reports and tell you how to get them.
