removing satisfied defaults

hi all,
i have sorted all my finance's and paid off full and final settlement figures with the debt collection agencies. one of which removed the debt from my file completely another has just adjusted to say satisfied. when i agreed the figures over the phone it was agreed verbally that all the debt would be removed from my credit file. Is there anyway i can remove the satisfied default of my credit rating all together even if it means paying off in full. this is really stuffing me up so i would be very gratefull if anyone could help.
if any one can help i would be more than happy to post £2.80 to you to cover the cost of a pint!

i would have thought that a satisfied default would not affect your credit rating, though I may be wrong.

    I'm afraid it will. :(

But it's better than having the default listed with a balance still unpaid. :)

I had a default from abbey( in 2002) that was sold onto Moorcroft in2004 and satisifed in 2005- so it is a bought debt. I have spoken to Moorcroft and asked them to remove it as the original default is from 2002 and that has passed six years. So although the original debt was sold on and has now passed the six years.

:cool:Can Moorcroft stay on my credit report and for how much longer?

All defaults should automatically drop off of your crf after six years.

It should drop off after 6 years. Your best bet is to contact the CRA. They would act on it asap if 6 yrs has elapsed

The moorcroft default should be a mirror of the origional date
