Dunno where to put this hope its ok here
so here goes finally admitting it i got into a lot of debt with provident and catalogues stupid me
got more and more and then cudent pay the min payment back so got in touch with debt helpling and they wrote to them saying i could offer x.xx amount some agreed and some diddnt this way about 1 year ago i kept to a few payments then hubby left me and couldnt afford anything was a single mum so now i get letters some saying taking you to court others saying weve took over this debt and now you have 14 working days to give payment or else etc etc and ive wrote to them to stop harrasing me as i just carnt pay simple as that no ifs or buts about it but i have kept all debt list and as soon as i can afford to after completing college and gaining employment in well paid job that they will be the first on my list to get paid off!
So just wondering what are they gonna do to me etc im scared dont want them taking my stuff outa home etc its bot big debt maybe 5-6 diff catalolgues with max of £200 spend on each of them apart from littlewoods which was£700 as i built up a good rapport with them what can they do to me or what should i expect please someone tell me before i go out of my mind and please dont reply if your gona slate me as its nothing i havent heard already but i was silly foolish and downright stupid and ivelearnt my lesson and basically just need help and advice at the moment many thanks!!!:confused: :beer:

    First of all no-one will slate you in this thread, we have all been there (or near there) so don't worry about that side of things.

    Please hang on in there and try not to worry too much, I don't have any practical advice I am afraid but there are lots of people on here who know all about these sorts of situations, I am sure that they will be able to help you sort this.

    In the meantime, have you contacted any of the debt counselling charities yet?? Here is a link with details about them:

    They will be able to give you advice and help you to understand what options are available to you. They will ask you to prepare a SOA (Statement of affairs) and it is a good idea to get this ready in advance (here is how to do it Link)

    If you want to you can post your SOA on here then people will help you to make sure you have covered everything taht you need to and will also be able to help you to spot areas where you can free up money to pay off debts.
