Hi, I wonder if anyone has a bit of insider info; I am currently on a fixed rate mortgage with Northern Rock which ends in May. I need to re negotiate soon, but I have a poor credit rating due to the amount of credit I have.
I have never missed a mortgage of loan payment (the products I have with Northern Rock) so I was wondering how thoroughly they would credit check me when I go to re negotiate as for them, I have been a model customer. Are the checks as thorough as going to a new lender completely - I understand mortgages are calculated on affordability. Can anyone help???

Hi
not too sure but i think that if you are just going to re negotiate ie put it back on a fixed rate that they don't re check you credit file.
Anyway this will bump it back to first page where you will get a better response.0 -
When I used to be with the Abbey and a deal came to an end, I would just call and ask the best rates. They would just read them over the phone, along with the figures and I chose one - job done - and my file was appalling at the time.
Can't guarantee all lenders are the same, but it was very quick and easy with the Abbey."Stay Wonky":D
