I would normally buy one of these and ride it for fun whilst having it up for sale, giving me a lot of fun and a few squid for the trouble - (now your talking!) , anyway I cant do this at the moment due to other commitments and an upcoming extended holiday, so I am going to tell you, you lucky devil, I hope you deserve this...
Buy one from witham (see below) negotiate at 3750 (inc vat) and below but make sure you make an offer based on condition and milage a 40k 1999 Treg will probably be worth it anyway, however get a proper valuation using the used motorcycle guide, and verify market prices on https://www.biketrader.co.uk
Withham does MOD and government disposals, these are ex DSA Bikes so FSH and highest standard of maintenance, these are therefore ex motorcycle driving examiner bikes (i believe)

Right when going to view the bike take this guide and familiarise yourself with what’s it says about the weak spots on Pan's , obviously check the one you are buying is not suffering n this way, also take someone who knows a bit about bikes, who can check for nasty noises faults and oil / coolant leaks (highly unlikely on Hondas), also I never buy a bike without a short road test even a few meters - so test it, make sure its straight and true.
Now have fun riding it for the rest of the summer, if you can bear top part with it advertise it for a tidy profit, or sell it next spring you will probably realise what you paid and maybe a tidy profit also.
