Letters after tax code number

What do the letters L/M and L/C after a code number mean? (2 different codes that is)

L means the allowances in the code are the basic personal allowances - given to everyone unless they are over 65 and married.
M means month 1 basis, or emergency tax
C means cumulative which is the normal basis for calculating tax.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
