Scam warning for users of VistaPrint

I'm posting this on as many forums as I can find.
To anyone who's ever used VistaPrint for ordering business cards, letterheads, etc - my husband just found £9.95 has gone from his credit card without his authorisation.
It's to a company called www.clubprem.com whic is linked to VistaPrint. If you buy stuff from VistaPrint they (without your permission) sign you up to a subscription service called VPRewards that costs £9.95 a month.
I've googled it and came up with this:
http://chiswickken.typepad.com/ringtone/2006/12/vistaprint_warn.html
I've read horror stories too where they refuse to cancel the subscription and keep taking £9.95 out a month until you cancel your card. Another person said they managed to get the payment refunded, after 17 phone calls, and some emails, only to have a fraudulent transaction on their card go out the same day, which they suspect to be linked somehow.
The credit card company won't cancel my husband's card as they are saying that he subscribed (he didn't) and so far we think the only way we're going to stop them taking more money is to cancel his card and never use VistaPrint again.
I always thought they were a good company. Please pass tis on to anyone you know who may use them, to warn them.
Luckily my husband noticed with the first transaction that went out, but some people have had over £100 taken from their accounts, and now can't get it back.

I think from memory (there's been posts before about VP Rewards) that when you make a purchase from them it does give you the option of whether you want to sign up to the monthly subscription.
From what I can remember and I don't know if it is still the same but it gave an option to opt out of the monthly subscription before you completed the purchase. One thing sticks in my mind from a user that posted you needed to be careful and read the small print etc.
You mentioned cancelling the card, but that won't stop the transaction from going through. Credit card subscriptions can and will still go through if the card is cancelled, the card company doesn't have the authority to stop it unless you've already tried to yourseld.
You can however do 3 things:
1. Contact Vista print and ask them to cancel the subscription, confirm this in writing aswell if possible.
2. Report the card as lost - this will generate a new card number. This may not stop it from going through however as depending on the card company they may simply transfer the debit over to the new card details.
3. If the 2 things above fail then contact the card company again, ask them to send the details of the transaction to the Disputes Team. They will be able to deal with subscriptions that have been cancelled where the company carries on taking payments (this is where it comes in handy to have a copy of the letter you send in point 1).0 -
Hi Everyone,
Do not panic ! I have recently been given a full refund from Vista Print Rewards for just over £300 that was taken over a year. I had a long battle with the people at Edgware (0845....) they are NOT helpful at all and sent me round in a verbal loop.
My advice is to phone the American number which I have on my special forum purely set up to solve everyones problems with Vista Print Rewards. I have all of the genuine solution on there with numbers to phone etc and what to say and what NOT to say. You must MUST be careful with what you say to them otherwise you won't get a penny back.
I can't post my forum link on here due to the rules but if you e-mail me NORRIE3699@HOTMAIL.COM I'd be happy to provide you the link, all I ask from you or anyone who goes to my forum is to register and share the problems you have with Vista Print so we can help many others.
I will help anyone that e-mails me I promise. My forum does require you to take 2 minutes to register (completely free, no strings attached). I put the register part on it purely so that I can attract more people into the forum to help stop this disgusting scam. When you register to my forum you will be able to view the solution which got me all my money back.
Please, once you register, leave your comments and advice etc in the forum to help others so we can battle this scam together.
All you have to do is ping me an e-mail and I'll e-mail you back with the link, I promise you I am genuinely helping people out.
Thankyou
