any sky retention deals?

Hi
I am on the last month of my 12 month contract period. Just wondering whether there is any retention deals going on? if so what day of the week would it be ideal to speak to them? i remember reading some where that sky CS reps get certain number of deals per week to offer.
Any advise would be really appreciated.
Many thanks

  • We dropped out sky that cost us £30 a month.. 2 weeks later they wrote to us offering same deal to us at £10 per week!

But £10 per week is more expensive than £30 per month . Or is that the point of your post, i.e. the OP is better off just leaving things as they are?

My life is fine but perhaps all the people that persistantly post in the wrong forum ought to head back to school because they obviously can't read!

If you get through to sky cancellations - if you say you want to cancel your account, they can discuss different things with you to try and retain you as a customer. As far as I know there are no discounts on subscriptions but they can offer discounts on hardware e.g. sky plus and sky HD.

Don't think there are any offers on just now. Had HD for a year, I called up just after christmas after watching the same old crap that gets repeated endlessly, decided to drop the movies and thought actually, may as well cancel.

Someone spent about 15 mins trying to convince me to stay but could offer no discounts hence there was no reason to stay. In the end I said look just cancel it and he went in a huff and said right. done. bye.

With people who post unucessary comments and add nothing to the discussion do what I do. Ignore them totally and move on - it's just a bunch of letters on a screen. They feel superior that they believe they have the right to judge and comment on other people, and you can feel and think whatever you want to, but whizz past their contribution. Sadly this is a part of forum life (any forum) and anyone can be a keyboard ninja. :rotfl:

Calpsy - there's only one thing more annoying than someone who posts in the wrong forum, and that's losers like you who have a go at the person who tells them they've posted in the wrong forum!

You may be happy for this to be a forum where people can post whatever they like, but fortunately for the rest of us there are rules. If you don't like people pointing out these rules, then just ignore them and move on, instead of using yawnsome phrases like "get a life". Idiot
Can't Martin bring Sharia law to the forum?? Maybe then people would definitely learn where to post the correct message.
By the way I need to go shopping tomorrow - anyone know where the cheapest place to buy bananas is??
