Thats a good letter. Of course, even if it gets as far as Court you can only be ordered to pay what you can afford. The irony will be if the Court makes an order for a smaller monthly amount than you offered. This is entirely feasible, particularly if the Judge decides to be irritable with First National for putting you in this position and abusing the Court process when there was a sensible offer on the table. (This is what happened to someone I know who was in the same position as you)

Does this mean then that if the names on the land registry haven't been changed they can't find you, or makes it more difficult?

The land registry keeps track of land and property so they may have searched on the address and not the name. As a lender they already had the address.

The reason i ask is that 2 years ago i actually bought my ex husband out of the house, the land ws in his name. I haven't got around to changing the the info at the land reg yet. It isn't a problem between us !!!!!! far as my ex is concerned ther is no rush, as far as he's concerned hes been paid. Everytime i had the £40 to do it something happend each time and the money had to go on something else.
Sorry to encroach on anothers thread.

I would get title details changed. Don't mean to be morbid but if anything happened to your ex then others may want a slice of what it appears he owned at death. My youngest brother died 2 years ago not leaving a will. There is still fighting over who should have what. Not between his immediate family, siblings, mom etc but his 2 girlfriends who both have children by him. You would think it should go 50/50 between the 2 children but one of the mothers is not having any of it. It's sad. My mom and elder brother can't even talk about it it's so upsetting and they always avoid driving past younger brother's house which the 2 women are fighting over.

    Death is the great leveller!!

Thankyou for your concern :) he actually lives in a foreign country and the only person who would benefit is our son. Once i have paid all my debts off i intend to put the house in his name anyway so it wouldn't really mean much different. Having said that i now do have a little extra money and i will sort it
Was discussing something similar with a friend the other day. she had been nagged by the company solicitor to make a will out but she said she didn't need to as the boys would go to their dad if she died. Not so, aparently they would be taken into care and he would have to apply to the courts to have custody of his own children  . Now i totally understand the fathers for rights campaign. I hope you mamage to sort your problems with the company hounding you (sorry i forgot the name - memory probs) i do know that they are one of the worst to deal with and CCCS warned me i may have harrassment form them.
