Work from home - Help and advice

Hi

This is my first post as i want to know about working from home opportunities.

I read all the time about scam ad how to avoid them, ie dont pay them and to good to be true.

Thing is i cant find any companies that offer genuine home working.

I only want to earn no more than £100 a week and work at my own leisure.

All these sites offer say you can earn £100 an hour. yeah right

Does anyone know of any genuine work from home jobs, data entry preferably that pay a realistic wage

Many Thanks

Both, one really great way to make cash from home is through a company called AQA. It's basically online research, someone texts in a question, you find the answer and text it back via the web. There is a big AQA thread on this page somewhere with more info
  • I work with a home-working company that is in the natural health products industry; I know the company is okay and not a 'scam'. It isn't an easy path if you want to make it 'big' but with persistence one can create an attractive income part time at your own tempo.

There is an element of sales involved, but rather than 'sticking your toe in the door sales' it is more of a personal recommendation form. Also it involves recruiting people and the company pays you for coaching them.

And the sites that suggest £100 per hour after the first week! Good move avoiding them, I think you may end up out of pocket big time.

I think one of the big problems in this home based business area is the amount of dis-information and 'scam' activity; indeed a lot of these have muddied the waters for people who are trying to do their own thing. I often speak to people on the phone, having found them as a lead, and am asked whether this is a 'scam'. Unfortunately those conversations are usually 'un-recoverable' and it is a shame, because that might have been a great person who might have done well.

I suggest you check out the regulatory body - the Direct Selling Association - and see whether the companies registered with them look okay to you; also the Office of Fair Trading now give their approval too - check out their web.

Could you let me know which company you are home-working for?

    thanks
  • I have a work from home job as well as a full time one. I have tried a few. it's important to research opportunities to see how many people are in your area doing any opportunity you are looking at.

It's useful to find sites where there are discussion threads about different work from home opportunities as you tend to get the feel for how things are going for other reps.

Think about the customer base you will have. If it is driect selling who will the products appeal to, how often and how much would a customer be likely to buy. I tried selling chocolate at one point which is great for xmas and easter, but in the summer doesn't go well with the hot weather and often people would look and then say they were on a diet and walk off:rolleyes:

Having looked around i found something that has a wide customer base, adults and kids and the products are reasonably priced so people buy as they know they will use the products.

The direct selling association has a website, try googling work from home opportunities.

Do you have any skills or hobbies which you could turn into extra cash? website design, typing, marketing, diy skills, art/ craft?
