  • Do you really have £600 left over each month? If not how about a spending diary??

How much do you have in savings? could that clear off the loan and then build savings up again?

Whats the payment to parents, and loan in SOA?

Of course, I will probably renew my Life cover this month some time, and I will use Quidco this time, I have only just discovered it really and have made approx £100 this month and I haven't spent a penny:D

SF - I don't want to be depressing, but if anything happened to you tomorrow, your OH would really really struggle to pay all those outgoings on his salary, please look into Life Insurance and/or Mortgage Insurance.

  • Banakinz - that is my OH - whose parents have alwasy been increadibly leniant to him as regards lending him money!!! We are not entirely sure of the sum but it is in the region of £700.

Merlot will check this out through Quidco, thanks for that.

May I just state that these debts are OH's!!! (sorry slightly defensive!)

As far as the £600 surplus yes, we do have this however this is the first month when it has been left over, because OH we have just wpent the last two months paying off OH's overdraft and with all of the next 18 days expenditure and emergency surplus this is what we will have left.

    Know that feeling

Well done on clearing the od, thats a fantastic step, you could have the rest cleared in no time with that balance each month :T I'd probably clear the parents debt first, that'll give you an extra £70, and in two months you'll have enough to clear the loan, then stooze the rest that on 0% for the next year!

    1. Do you needs to feed the animals Iams or could you swap tom a cheaper own brand? It equates to 32p a day per animal - top quality feed less and the pups do agility and fly ball - cheaper equivalent full of colourings etc

I feed 2 very large Rhodesian ridgebacks and a cat on top quality food for £20 a month. It uses human grade meat is hypoallergenic and no colourings or preservatives.

I wouldn't feed any pet Iams even if it was the cheapest on the market it uses animal by products (beaks, claws etc) and the company itself has a terrible animal cruelty record.

You could save a bit of money and help animals too :D

  • Right then have done as instructed Merlot I have now insured my life - so I probably have a price on my head from kids and my husband. I have done it for till the girls are 18 and I can cancel and reavalute whenever I want.

    Thank you for that tip.

SF, I am pleased to see you have taken out life insurance, I too have got life insurance until my children are 18, my OH says the Au Pair he would need in place of me would cost a small fortune:rotfl: In his dreams, if anything happened to me my mother is instructed to employ Nanny Mcfee! Life insurance in my honest opinion is as necessary as buying the food each month, and to others who don't have it or can't afford it, consider getting rid of the mobile phone or sky.
