Abbey- we don't care how you get the money

Just get it and pay. We will not negotiate if you don't like it go to CAB or solicitor. Think the conversation went down hill from there, apparently they are not my personal financial advisers and I should sort myself out.
I think I forgot how nasty creditors can be. They are not interested in looking at our SOA or pro rata payments. Now they just slam the phone down when I ring trying to negotiate payments.
All this for £500. :cry::cry::cry:

    Inform them by a registered letter than you will be recording phone calls. Then do so.

  • MBNA called me within about 5 mins of my Dad dying. I thought it was the GP calling back after I rang him to ask him to come over and do whatever he needed to do to certify the death, etc, etc.

    Told those heartless gits that my Dad had literally just died and they said, "Ok, we'll call you back later".
    Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

  • They're despicable, totally despicable.

    Out of all the creditors I have, they're the worst by far.

    Whacking charges and interest fees on even when you tell them you're struggling, constant phone calls with aggressive tones. At least with loan sharks you know what to expect!

    I wonder if people who are employed to use these tactics have a conscience? I briefly worked for a debt collecting telephone company inbetween study terms, and lasted a month, it depressed me to have to be firm with people, some of them might have been trying it on, but many sounded genuinely upset and worried, not a great way to earn a living, unless you have to be a certain type of person to do these types of jobs?

    you do wonder....."hi honey, how was work?"

    "OK, I made 10 people really upset before my lunch-break but then I was in a meeting til 11. They've offered me overtime as there's loads of people having problems that I can harass at the weekend but I think I'll just take it easy and be a nice family person until Monday...I got extra for sticking 5 people on loans that aren't right for them...it'll help pay for our new bathroom...we don't want to get in debt...heh heh heh."

  • I can't beleive that in this day and age that companies like this cannot try and help customers overcome problems. It must surely cost more to go into a route which may lead to posession as they would have to wait a long while for their money. I would definately complain about customer service and ask for a copy of the conversation.
