I want to find a back issue of "Slimming" magazine (April 2001), published by emap

Hello!

I want to get my hands on a back issue of "Slimming" magazine (April 2001), published by emap.

Unfortunately, when I called emap they informed that, because the magazine no longer exists (having been bought over and replaced with "Top Sante"), they are unable to provide back issues.

Can anyone suggest how to track a copy down?

Thank you in advance.

Scotty

    Hello!

Many thanks for finding that link for me.

Sadly, I'm hunting for "Slimming" magazine rather than "Slimming World"...

    Thanks again anyway,

    Scotty

Hi, your local library may be able to help especially if you can be specific about the articleyou want. They can go to the British Library on your behalf. They buy and archive most serials because they are the library of last resort. The journals are lent or articles photocopied.
If you check the integrated library catalogue here
http://catalogue.bl.uk/F/?func=file&file_name=login-bl-list you will see that there is still a magazine called Slimming however it may not be the right one. But Top Sante has been going since the early 90s so did not replace 'Slimming' although may have incorporated such a title. The more info you can give British Library the better - for example was the journal definitely published by emap in 2001?

Try your local hospital or doctors waiting room, they have a selection of "vintage" magazines, some dating back to 1991.

Sorry about the link the BL ones can be a pain..so go back a stage on the url
Go to www.bl.uk put your search term in the search box and then take the ticks out of the search boxes except for the one for the integrated catalogue. I think you will find the search inconclusive and therefore it will be worth your local library making a BL application for you. There is normally a charge - in Essex Libraries where I work its £3 which seems a lot but it costs the library much more than that. Good luck - let me know if you get a copy of what you want down this route
