Internet Sale - Consumer Rights

Hi,

I recently ordered some stuff on-line during an advertised sale which was promoted to finish on the 21st Jan.

I went into the site again on the 22nd Jan and found the sale had been extended by a further week, with a further 10% off the item I bought the day before.

Am I within my rights to seek a refund of the difference between the 'old' and the 'new' sale price? How would one go about making a claim?

I did e-mail the Customer Service dept. a few weeks ago but have received no reply.

Regards,

Lammy

  • Depends on what company you ordered it from and if you have received the item, but normally you are just depending on the good will of the company and it is unlikely you will get a refund of the difference, especially as you have received no reply to your email. Might be worth a quick chaser asking for a reply though. Always worth asking - the worst they can do is say no.

Unfortunately you are not entitled to the difference if its gone down, you agreed to the price at the time. Occasional some companies will refund, SVP and Amazon are on of the, but they dont have to its just down to good will. No harm in asking I suppose but if they say no they are well within the rights.

The only thing you can do though is assuming you haven't used the product and its in pristine condition is send it back under the distance selling act.

Only 7 days from receipt,(unless faulty, then you are under Soga)

Would OP want to pay more if the price had increased?

Yes sorry forgot to mention that its 7 working days and apparently the costs of sending it back is on the seller.
