Dry gingerbread

I just made a gingerbread in the microwave for the kids playpeices tomorrow as the cupboards are empty (they've eaten me out of house and home this week!)
It tastes very nice, but has turned out awfully dry, is there anything I can do to rescue it?
The only thing I can think of is to poke it with a skewer all over and douse it with coffee.
Any suggestions greatfully recieved!

Gingerbread is always best if it is left for a few days before eating, the sugar in it takes up moisture from the air,
