I wanna buy a nice dress shirt

I need to get a nice dress shirt in preparation for a dinner next month, I'm either going to rent or buy the tux but I'd prefer my own shirt (I already have the tie and cumberbund).
I purchased this one:
http://www.littlewoods.com/rf/navigation/product.do?D=424658120&SNtk=littlewoods_search&thisprod=424658120&Mis_item_loc_id=1&Ntk=group_search&SNtt=dinner%20shirt&Nu=this_product&SN=85%20103&N=85%20103&Ntt=424658120&Dx=mode+matchall&Np=1&product=424658120&groupId=424658120&Nty=1&Ntx=mode%20matchallpartial&Mis_item_id=15
(which should be a Taylor & Reece, white fold down collar), which seemed like a bargain at £5.00 (down from £25.00).
It arrived today and having looked at it I get a distinct 'meh' feeling about it. The shirt is rather thin so skin colour shows through, as such it tends to go a bit off-white when I put it on.
Has anyone got any suggestions for where I can get a good quality shirt for not much ££, internet or high-street?
Many thanks,
DG

or visit the next outlet store.
Slater menswear also have reasonably cheap shirts use the store locator to locate your local store. http://www.slaters.co.uk/content/frameset.asp?page=s1
If you dont manage to find a new shirt, buy a white vest/tshirt to wear under the shirt. It will make the shirt look thicker and stop your chest hair and nipples showing through

I bought son a new shirt last week for his birthday from Greenwoods and it was £12.99 with a free tie.The quality is really good. They are online as well, plus they have a loyalty card scheme.I only signed for the loyalty card last nov and the other week they sent me a free £5 voucher without even buying anything then.I know they have some really top quality dress shirts too.0
