dca letter - quick question

hi there,
i was just wondering if I could just ask a quick question about a letter I've received from a debt collection agency.
I wrote to them last week about a debt I owe, offering a repayment plan which would pay it off in 3 months.
today i've recieved a letter with a budget plan to fill out which isn't a problem, but they've also asked for proof of earnings to be sent in. They're looking for a wage slip or other proof.
I'm not happy sending a copy of my wage slip to them to be honest, do I have to?
I've never been asked for this before, and its thrown me a bit!
any help is really appreciated.
thanks x

Hi Aligerdie,
First of all make sure you income and expenditure details everything from clothes, rent, utilities, car tax etc
You don’t have to send proof of your earnings. Once you have posted you I&E to your creditor just start making the payments regardless of if they accept it or not as they have to knock it off the balance. Either make your payments through payment book or standing order don’t set any direct debits up with them – you need to have control at your endI am a Debt Counsellor that works for the CCCS and have specific permission from Martin, to post on these boards to try and help those in debt. thank you all for your replies, I was thinking that sending the wage slip was a bit of a sneaky thing to ask for.
I'll do the form tomorrow and send it recorded, along with a cheque and a request for their details to set up a standing order.
Thanks again, i really appreciate your replies. x96 items decluttered so far in 20130
