I have a really cheap DVD player (well not compared to the ones you get today but 18 months ago it was dirt cheap)

All I do is drag pictures onto a cd in XP and my DVD player displays them automatically as a slideshow - with lots of special effects to select. It just looks for any jpg on the disk and displays them.

Yes you can add your own music. Ulead pictureshow, ulead movie factory also does this, with supplised music or your own mp3's. There are mnay other companies that do this I think even there a basic M$ slideshow program

Windows Moviemaker can make very professional slide shows, with background music too. It then lets you save the file as a DVD ready AVI file. Be careful if you have a Sony PC with Click to DVD as the AVI's are in different formats and need to be converted.

    Thx all for your help.

I've been using http://www.xequte.com/pixplay/index.html to make a slideshow......with music and fancy transitions. Took my p.c about 10-15mins to convert 150 jpegs to a DVD slideshow disc...
