OS alternative to liquid dish washing soap? Ideas please

Just wondering if anyone had any 'gentle' recipe ideas for making liquid hand dish washing soap.
I saw that Rhonda Jean (www.down---to---earth.blogspot.com) uses her own hand made castile soap in its hard form and a scrubbing type brush to wash her dishes by hand but I'm on the fence on that one and not sure why.
I just would rather know that I'm putting as few chemicals as possible on my dishes to get them clean.
Yes, by the way, I have gone the 'organic' run-a-mile from pesticides/chemicals/etc etc lately. Well, trying to anyway. It's what I get for reading an Organic Living book from the library. Scared me silly! :rotfl:
I did make my own soap the other night and although I'm freaked by having to use 'caustic soda' it went ahead and did it.
Any thoughts????

Years ago I knew someone in New Zealand who was allergic to washing up liquid. She used ordinary house hold soap - like 'fairy' green soap. She had it in a little wire frame box on a handle. She filled the bowl with hot water and swooshed the soap in the water till it was a bit frothy.
It worked. I think you could use one of those plastic orange or lemon bags. Put any household soap in it, secure the open edge and hold that while swooshing.0 -
