On a DMP and credit cards still charging interest!

Is anyone else in the same situation and have you found a way to stop the credit cards interest/late payment fee? I have been on a DMP since November 07 and 2 out of 4 cards are still charging interest on the outstanding amount and adding on a £12 fee for not paying a minimum of 1%. Now the outstanding balance has gone way over my credit limit and when I phoned them to ask why they are still charging, as I'm trying to clear the debt they said it was because I wasn't paying at least 1% and it will go on for about 6 months before they pass the debt over to a debt management company.
The culprits are: Halifax and Sainsbury's
The understandables are: MarksandSpencer and Barclaycard Visa who halted the interest after 3 months.
I've resolved that whenever I have any spare money I will pay off the understandables first and the others will not be paid until the predicted 10 years it will take to pay it all off - that's if I'm not dead first!

Hi There
We started our DMP in Sept 2006, and up until Nov 2007, both Halifax and Sainsburys froze interest and charges on our cards. Now, despite us increasing our DMP they have stared to apply interest and charges. when I contacted them they siad this would continue until the account was passed on to a Debt collection agency. I told them I would be glad for them to do this NOW, but they said it has to be a 5 month period. I have written to them but they have never replied!!! good of them! We've adopted the same thinking as you and will pay them off last!!!!Debt at Sept 2006 £63,500:eek:
Debt at Sept 2012 £24,400

Yeah. Mint are still charging me interest and i think they are linked to Halifax. Citi Bank are doing the same. They are just imbeciles though.0

Mint are with Royal Bank Of Scotland and are one of the worst for stopping interest"Life is short even in its longest days".0

My BAA Worldcard credit card was the best, accepted my min payments and froze interest straight away.
Marbles and HSBC passed me DCA a few months ago, so no interest there and accepting min payments.
I think Capital One are my hardest ones. No matter how many times I have written to them, they just ignore me and every month I get the same letter "You seem to be having difficulties, please call us blah blah blah"Lightbulb moment Dec 2005 - debt £23700
June 2010 - £17984.210 -
I've had no problem at all with Cap One or Citi- both froze interest and charges almost instantly - it's strange how different people have different experiences with companies.Barclaycard have been my biggest nightmare,0

It does seem strange.
I've had no problems with Barclaycard, Lloyds, Cap One or MBNA who i was led to belive were hard nuts to crack. CITI however are still charging and refusing to budge.0
