Options for an old pension - can anyone help??

I had my lightbulb moment quite a few months ago now and have found this site an absolute godsend for pointing me in the right direction and keeping me on the straight and narrow.
Over the last couple of years I have managed to reduce the debt from over £20k to around £4 and know that there is now light at the end of the tunnel - I am determined it will be gone by the end of 2008.
I have an old company pension I paid into last around 8 years ago and don't know whether this could be put to any better use, as it is just frozen at the moment. I'm only in my late twenties so would ideally like to put this money to better use now whilst I could do with it!
Does anyone know what my options are please???

you can withdraw money from a pension at 50, this is changing to 55 soon.
so no you can't withdraw now0 -
it depends on how long you were in the scheme for doesn't it? ie if you paid in for less than 2 years, you can get your subs back. There is a pensions forum on here, they might be able to help
