Credit Report : 1 Report 2 People Mixed Identity

Hello some advice needed.

I have the same name and address as my father. I bought my Credit Report but it was a combination of his credit and mine. His was all good with perfect repayments and as much credit as he needed.

I had a defaulted overdraft. His Credit Card providers slashed his limits and called him a bad risk. As though he had defaulted when he hadn't. The account has my date of birth not his.

Can this be right? If I contact the agency will they create two files where now there is one. How can I get my father back his good credit rating? FAST HE IS GOING NUTS. AND HE IS RIGHT TO!


If anyone know a way out of this please tell me.

The file says a score of 500 oit of 1000. This is one score for two people.


If i pay the debt of tomorrow will the score go back upt to 1000. If not when and how.

It won't happen overnight but you need to contact the credit reference agencies and explain the situation and then they will sort the mess out. You will probably have to contact all three but they will sort it as they have a duty to make sure the information they hold is accurate. In the meantime a note can be put on the credit file that potential creditors may or may not take notice of.
