Right People...
Not only am I finally back online.... I am back with The Challenge
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=428001
Thats the thread and rules/blurb about the challenge!
I've been away for far too long and I desperately need to reign it in!
Starting earlier this year than last due to the freaky Easter we've got this year and I know I'm a day late for Lent, but hey, whats a day between friends!
Now if you're anything like me, you probably can't be bothered with the old thread.. so the basic break down is this :
For Lent, you give up spending on Unnecessary items.. so anything that is not essential to your daily survival... choccie biccies continue not to be.. so whatever biscuits goodies I've got left will have to see me through!!!
Some people like to consider spending on their darling kiddies exempt, and thats cool...
The idea is that we train ourselves away from believing we NEED all these things society and retail marketing tell us we do... and recognising that it is a WANT.... and I'm sure there are other people out there who got into debt through wanting more than they could afford!
So I'm hoping for this years version to be just as great a success, and it is with great pleasure that I welcome myself :rotfl: back to the Mother Ship
and without further ado I annouce the 2008 Unnecessary Challenge .....
Can I get a :money: Martin Says No!!!

If its budgetted for and planned... everything should be ok Mary Jane..
If its any consolation, not only do I have a holiday to New York in March during the challenge, but also a WEDDING!!!
And yes everyone, when I say wedding, I mean MY OWN WEDDING!!!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Just replied on the old thread.
As I said there I am totally unnecesary
Like yourself, your highness, really need to reign in.
I have enough toiletries etc to last me at least until Christmas,
Weight-wise I so do not need chocolate:EasterBun
and no holidays planned (can't afford any:eek: ) so the knickers I have will do!
Great to be back on thread & hopefully back to controlling spending.

I want to join in!! I have found that going shopping without OH and son in tow has saved me a packet in biscuits etc!
Err does it include takeaways :rotfl:I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off
1% over payments on cc 3.5/100 (March 2014)0 -
blimey! You win! How exciting, i think thats allowed.
My trip is kind of budgeted. It was booked before my Lightbulb moment. I then have my main holiday end of April to Paris so i have to save for that too!
Then i'm becoming a hermit for the rest of the year. :P0 -
