Hi I have just made my first payment to CCCS.
Mbna have been trying to get hold of me via phone when I asked for them to only write, should I call em back? MBNA have got hold of my DH (he has an account to) they called him at work and said he has to increase his payments he was good and told them that it has to go via cccs which they were not happy with.
First direct have been sods and said that to freeze interest they want hubby and i to join our debts together and sign a new agreement, I said no, so they are sending me a final demand.
I am just beginning to loose heart right now.
I have sent no requests for CAA, should I do this?

Hi Mummytofour,
Stick with it! Don’t let them have anymore money and it should all go quiet after a couple of payments as many people on here will tell you.
If you are finding the calls stressful, send them a letter requesting they remove your number from their systems.I am a Debt Counsellor that works for the CCCS and have specific permission from Martin, to post on these boards to try and help those in debt. Read more information on the CCCS and what it does in the Debt Problems: What to do and where to get help article.
CCCS is a registered charity, and there is no charge whatsoever for any of the services we provide to our clients. We take great pride in offering first class help and advice, but we only offer this where we have been able to fully explore and understand your circumstances with you. We want to help you understand these choices and their possible implications but not make them for you.

My sister is with the CCCS and also had loads of calls every day from various creditors. As Sarah has said, they do all calm down but some do take longer than others. Some of them have threatened my sis with all sorts of things, some have said they don't accept the CCCS and she will also need to set up DDs. She just kept repeating the mantra, we're with the CCCS and eventually it stopped. You've come a long way, so definately don't give up now!0

Mummy2four,
Change your phone number then no creditor will call you, its free to do so, and get your OH to write to MBNA (they are sh*ts) and tell them to communicate via writing only and send by recorded delivery, if they continue to phone your OH at work, see advice from the FOS
As Sarah said stick with it, and I say change your number today, that'll teach them, no-one should be made to feel wary of picking up there own phone.

I would tell MBNA that is they keep phoning your OH at work he is likely to lose his job, and then he will be even less able to pay his debts.....:D
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Good one chevalier, but it could be true, I know my OH company does not tolerate any personal phone calls unless absolute emergency.

Don't cave and pay them anything other than the CCCS amount,
If you let them get to you and give them something to keep them at bay then they'll know that you do have the means to pay and they'll NEVER leave you alone then!
