studio cards accepted £1 month....

to recap i owe £770 to studio but they never produced a signed cca - most of the money owed is charges as they take back about £12 for every £15 for interest and you only pay £3 off.....
now - after all the letters going back/forwards they say they will accept £1 a month every month to be in their hand by 8th feb (only got the letter this morning so that cant be done) - so - any advice folks? do i take this as them admitting they know they can enforce this and dont pay or should i make the payments? £1 a month is nothing but, im scared if i begin to pay they will hold it against me and take me to court and say ; look, she must owe as she paid this - the courts will then make me pay the full amount at once which i cant afford....
any advice?
thanks

Not sure on the signed CCA bit but I have dealt with Studio and they accepted a £1 but every 3 months they write wanting it to go up, so maybe a £1 now but it won't stay that low for long.
Hopefully someone else can boost your confidence with the CCA bit.0 -
If you've requested a copy of your CCA, then you've technically disputed the debt. That means that they are not allowed to take any action until they provide you with the CCA.0

Well Im no expert.... but I would say until they produce the CCA you dont pay anything as that would be acknowledging the dept....BOI Credit Card = Was £3500.00 Now £0.00
GE Capital Store Card= Was £1800.00 Now £0.00
GE Capital Store Card = Was 1300.00 Now £0.00
Credit Union Savings Now £200.00 :T0 -
thanks - i tried to find this thread but it disappeared off my computer.....seems to me the best course of action would be to write and tell them the debt is in dispute due to no cca????thanks all0

Not only are they not allowed to do anything without the CCA, they are breaking the law if they don't send you one. They have 12 working days from when they received your request, plus two days for postage. Thirty days after that, if you still haven't had the CCA, they are breaking the law. If that happens, you can report them to their local Trading Standards.
I would wait until that time is almost up and then write and tell them that if they don't respond immediately you'll report them. With any luck, they will acknowledge that they cannot enforce the debt and leave you alone.0
