Hi All,
I was looking for some advice from people that may do or have worked as a party planner for the Body shop in the past.
I have been offered a starter kit to start doing the parties but haven't yet purchased anything. I was thinking about doing 1 per month alternating them between friends and neighhbours and work collegues. I have looked at the website and you can actually book them on line, so there may be additional parties coming in from this.
Is this a good way of making a little extra and getting some free products? I appreciate that it won't make a huge dent in my debts but as one of the supermarkets say every little helps

Hi, Im a party planner, but not for Body Shop. You may get a better respone on the Up Your Income board as there are a few more patry planners on there. Even better talk to your team leader, thy're earning money on your sales, so effectively, theyre paid to advise you.
I find if you can do several parties per month it makes a huge difference to your income, but if your just drifting along, it takes a while to build the business to be profitable.
Am I right in thinking your kit changes frequently? In which case, you would be better doing several parties to get use of the kit, even if it means clustering them. For e.g. you could do parties roughly every 4 weeks, but do one at the beginning and end of the month, then miss a month (and therefore not purchase that kit).
It also depends on how much you have to spend to get bookings / do the parties in terms of petrol, doing events, advertising etc. If you have a network of friends, family, colleagues, that will have parties for you (especially if they all have different networks of friends themselves), then you're on to a winner. Offer an incentive at each party to anyone who books their own party and you should be able to keep the chain going.0
