Big worry.....hope someone can clarify.
My OH owes the income tax office an amount which he couldn't pay on time and kept getting delayed. It got to the point of threatening letters of council count action etc. He rang up the tax official in charge and explained our personal circumstances and the guy said to fill out a form and they will see how best they can work out a payment schedule, and that the judgement will be registered but they will wipe it off. We've now received a letter from the County Court with a breakdown of monthly payments OH had agreed to and which he intends to pay.
Does this mean my partner will now have a County Court judgement on his credit file?

Yes, you OH has a CCJ against his name. Your credit rating has crash dived too I'm afraid. Whilst the CCJ is being paid it is on the credit file simply as a CCJ. Once you have finished paying it will be marked as 'satisfied' which is better for credit purposes but still a negative, especially with any form of mortgage application.
