  • NekoZombie,

    Ooops! ha ha!

Well, they cut and pasted ok, but obviously didnt come out right! Missed that one!

basically, I put my gas, elec and other heating at £100 and am thinking that is maybe a bit high?!
My telephone one I put £50 too, which I know is high aswell...
Housekeeping I put at £250, but have seen that £191 is all Im allowed as Im living on my own...:( but I dont feel like I should change them as then Id be lying?
Unless its gonna save me a bundle of questions on me explaining how careless with money Ive been....
    Clothing £50
    Other £50
    Travel £52
Council Tax £125 (for a two bedroom maisonette thats extortionate!!)

Really hoping to finish my form today and get it printed, signed and sealed for Monday.....

First step done then, and by the sounds of it thats only the very first step!!!

250 is very high for housekeeping - I was only allowed 181. Remember that bankruptcy is about a fresh start and an opportunity to live within your means. You can put £250 down and see if it accepted though. Other ones are prescription, holiday, dental

    Hi Leicestercat,

It looks o.k. to me, and for the Court forms it doesn't need to be perfect; it's the O.R that will go through it in more depth.

As for your Income Tax Reference number it might be on a payslip or P60. Its three numbers and then a space and five or six more; something like this:

    290 S50321 (I think)

I have to disagree with you on this one Rich. I think its better to get everything down exactly as you mean it to be at the early stage, before talking to the OR. I submitted a very poor I&E which resulted in an IPA of £156 that I had to contest, and its caused no end of trouble from day 1. I'm pretty certain that if I had taken the time to do it correctly at the early stages then I would have had a lot less hassle with my OR.

  • Thanks both.

It seems like such an easy task: after all, its only about 8 figures, but its difficult weighing up how much the amount actually is against how much you are actually allowed to put! I think its so bad that someone else has put a limit on how much these figures are - I mean, Im claiming for BR for a reason, Im hardly going to be living a life of luxury am i!!!

BTW the above outburst is not directed at you two - its so strange the feeling of guilt that has arisen in me even more than before about my finances since Ive started to fill out the form. I assume because its now being recorded in a way that I can sit and gaze at it for as long as I like. Not for much longer I hope!

And the real grilling hasnt begun yet has it re: when I fill out more forms for the OR! Woah, this really wasnt as simple as I thought!

    Hi Neko,

I should have taken more time with that Post because I agree with what you say. I'll take more care to explain a comment like that in the future because it is potentially misleading. Where somebody has got a high salary or a joint income, I always take the time to ensure they've included everything in their SOA. For somebody on a low income or benefits, the SOA isn't that important with regards to an IPA.

Leicestercat is going to take a part-time job and probably work abroad at some point in the future, so the question of an IPA won't arise, if she's only got part time hours.

I think everybody's Posts should be open to scrutiny by other users, otherwise poor and misleading advice doesn't get corrected. I have corrected some of my own howlers on occasions.

(Report on Richard_S - must try harder to avoid being careless, otherwise it'll be six of the best:eek:  , - Ms Neko, Form Tutor)

hi Leicestercat, it was the same for me. My debts are all more than 2 years old and I had the IVA going and tried like everyone else here to sort it all out so didnt have too much guilt until I started to fill out the forms, then the process of writing it down brought back the emotions and diffilculties of the previous 2 years all in one go! Go easy on yourself (((hugs)))) we didnt get into the mess in one go so we really dont need to experience all those emotions again in one go either :) and let go of guilt, the most pointless emotion the human condition experiences.

Ahh your right, we shouldnt be too hard on ourselves and also, I personally think that going BR is one of the bravest things I have done lately, not keeping my head stuck in the sand.

Am finishing off my forms and going to the court tomorrow .... cant believe it! But bet i will tomorrow!

  • Good Luck for tomorrow

BR is brave, the "outside" world would have us believe its giving up but actually it's letting go and that is far harder

you will be fine, look forward to hearing about your day once its over
