Hi there, does anyone know who i report emails that appear to be fraudulent to?
I keep getting emails from 'banks/building societies' where i am not even a customer. They tell me they are either deactivating or reactivating my 'accounts' They are increasing in frequency, i did ring one building society to ask them if they were aware of nything untoward but they weren't very helpful. Thanks

On my Email account (hotmail), I have an option at the top of the page to "report a Phishing scam" I send them there, I'm guessing they ban the email address where they came from.... maybe.
Not sure who you use, but there should be a similar alternative0 -
I would advise you not to report them to your bank if you have an account with them
I did this thinking i was being helpful and they blocked my access and i had to wait a week to get all new passwords
As littlegoldfishie says clcik on "report a phising scam"0 -
Thanks both for that i'll have a look and see if i can block them0

I get on average 10 a day from banks all over the world!
Most now go straight into the trash can folder - my advice is to ignore them.0 -
I keep getting spam mails too. I know some people have set up spam filters, is there anything that works with an O2 or hotmail email account and doesn't filter out the emails you want to read?Need to save money to fund the dream :rolleyes:0

dont bother reporting them. Get a decent spam checker and they will filter them out for you.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Check out https://www.spamcop.net as a way to disrupt the activities of the folk who send these emails.0

The latest one I am getting now is a Paypal one. It says I have bought something for £438 from some company, or person. If I want to cancel the purchase just click this link.
You can spot them easy enough as the email address they come from is something@paylal.com. Close enough to fool some people, especially if they panic when they see "you have paid XXXXXXX £438 from your paypal account".0 -
I've tried clicking on the 'unsubscribe' button, but the same companies still keep sending them.Need to save money to fund the dream :rolleyes:0

NO NO NO NO. Never ever ever respond to them. That then just confirms your email exists and they will add you to every other fraudulent email list they can. It will just increase the spam.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
