Dental code

Could one of our dental experts explain this code on my husband's dental plan please:
Filling - MODB
Filling - MODB/P
The dentist told him that he needs 2 large composite fillings to replace old amalgams which have decay under them. They will cost £95 each, so we will be testing out our new Tesco dental plan which will hopefully reimburse 80% of the cost.
Just curious as to what the codes mean. I know it's to do with the surfaces, but I like to know exactly!:D
Thanks

MODB = Mesial Occlusal Distal Buccal. basically a filling that goes from the front of the tooth, through the biting surface and over the back surface, extending over the cheek (Buccal) side of the tooth as well.
MODBP -the same but it goes over the palatal surface as well - so pretty much every surface of the tooth.
Bottom line - two pretty big fillings!!How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -

Thanks for that:T . Hope they hold up, being so big, but the dentist's not suggested crowns so must be confident it'll be ok. He is very experienced and good with composites. My glass is half full :beer:0 -
lol i might start thinking of it as code rather than charting. makes it a bit more interesting!0
