Help wanted....Wedding Music

Comments

  • My friends who are marrying in July have just sent out their wedding invites and they are asking people to text/e-mail them with music suggestions. They are not having a DJ. They are putting all songs on mp3/i-pod and setting it up to run and run. If they don't have the song they are downloading it off t'internet.

I will be stealing their idea for my wedding(if I ever get asked!!).

    I love Time Warp.

How about the Birdie song or Kenny's The Bump?
If you know anyone who used to go on holiday with Haven or similar they used to do a song for the kids with actions to match - I remember one of the lines was "klingons on the starboard bow"

  • That would be Star Trekkin by Dr Demento, available for download off iTunes, On that tip you could also include Walk The Dinosaur, The CanCan & that Greek place smashing song... You know the one ;)
  • St Elmo's fire. Definately songs from Grease & you just have to have Jive Bunny & the master mixers!! 'C, C Come on everybody'
  • Ooooh How about I'll be Ready, the theme from Baywatch (Not the Eric Pridz version)

The fast food song (mcdonalds, macdonalds, kentucky fried chicken and a pizza hut!)
    B'Witched - C;est La Vie
    Anything from Grease
    Macho Man
The superman song (Fly! Ski! Spray! Ring the Bell!)
    I wanna dance with somebody

Our first dance is going to be Weird Al's 'Do I creep You Out', and just imagining the guests face when they actually listen to the lyrics is really keeping us happy! He's a death metal fan, I'm a cheesy 80's girl, so we're having a hard time getting a good mix. If we'd been more organised we'd have asked guests for their suggestions, but most of them are into some very strange music, so on reflection probably not a good thing!
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

They have. Try reading the thread.

Incidentally, the premise of this sounds absolutely horrible.

    OP, how was the disco?
