Mis-sold pension but not able to get the money credited

Hi - hope someone can help!
I have been mis-sold a personal pension (move from final salary) and accepted the offer of compensation in February 2007. The cheque has been written by the original financial advisors and has been sitting in the offices of the company handling the mis-selling claim (PWC) since November. I have phoned weekly asking when the money will be released into my pension scheme but have been advised that "the Government have changed the rules and they (PWC) are working through how much money should be credited to my pension". I have been unable to get any indication of when the money will be released, but told "since mine is the first compensation since the rules changed they don't know what the tax position is" .
I have some major pension decisions to make this year and really need to understand what my current pension provision is.
Would appreciate any ideas on how I can break this impasse and have the money released into my pension.
Thanks
