:T Its only a month ago that we contacted cccs for help - 58k on cc's, had been keeping up all minimum payments but when mbna upped the interest rates on 2 cards and doubled the minimum payments we were in big trouble! Had been hiding our heads in the sand for some time really, but this was the straw that broke the camels back.
CCCS gave us 2 options - dmp or iva. Plumped for the dmp.
Sent in all the details and have heard back today from Co-op that they are accepting our dmp payments with cccs for the next 11 months at which time they will review!
A month ago, felt really desperate and scared and not sure which way to turn. Contacting CCCS was the best thing that we did and really should have done it earlier. So to all you who are scared about what to do, but know that you can't carry on the way that you have been. Bite the bullet and do it - phone cccs or payplan and start taking control. You really will feel so much better and very soon on the start to a new debt free life!!!!!:j

It's a great feeling isn't it? I've got a CCCS DMP and all the phone calls and letters have stopped and each month I see what I owe going down rather than up. There is definitely a little flickering of light at the end of a long tunnel BUT I am soooo relieved to have CCCS on my side.0

Well done Hillbilly - and HHH :T :T :T
It's just a shame that the Debt Counselling Charities don't get the same publicity as the 'Ambulace Chasing' Vultures who offer to 'solve your debt problems' safe in the knowledge that they stand to make a nice fat fee out of your misfortune, whether succesful or not.
Long live CCCS, CAB and National Debtline - to name but a few. :T :TI am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
