If you have a joint bank account and you are planning 1 BR

You will need lots of time for this to process.

I spoke to the Abbey (for Abbey see Computer says no sketch) and was told to go into branch with ex with id and fill in form - job done.

However - girl at the branch (all singsong voice and NO IDEA  ) said that drivers license was not enough, need passports (outof date), so had to drive all the way back and get proof of child tax credit and IR statement. Went all the way back - queued again and was told actually this cant be done today - it has to be sent to head off ice and authorised.

So now when I go BR tomorrow - it looks as if ex's bank account will be frozen too. Marvellous.

    Hi NME,

It's the bank that freezes the account not the O.R.

If your ex has maintainted the account o.k. then they'd have no reason to freeze it, especially if you were being removed from the account anyway.

Could you forget to include it on your SOA? You're not using it after all; easy oversight to make with all the pressure you're under. We had 4 or 5 accounts that didn't come to light until after we were declared bankrupt and nothing was ever said about that.

  • Also i think this is very much bank dependant.

As Lloyds TSB removed my name from the joint account within 10 minutes.

  • Im all printed and prepped Richard!!

Ex also lost his card (told you he was numpty) and asked to use mine whilst he waited for a new one, which im still not sure if he has.

TBH I will just tell judge or oR or whoever i see tomorrow what is happening with it and go from there.:D

Just wanted other would be jumpers to give themselves enough time as I know its something that has come up a few times:money:

That doesn't sound like Lloyds TSB. Are you sure you got the right bank? That sounds nearly organised.:rotfl:

Congratulations NME; time to spare. :D

The Judge won't want to go into any detail, it'll be the O.R and you may not even get to talk to him/her tomorrow.

I guess there's always something that pops out of the woodwork at the last minute.

You could always tell your ex to withdraw enough cash before tomorrow just in case it does get frozen; if he can find a card to use.:rotfl: :rotfl:

That sounds more like them. Not even bothering to check ID.

The only time they can do it quickly is when the make a ****'s up of the checks they should do.

Surely you aren't suggesting that our banking institutions employ less than top drawer staff :D
