Morning guys,
Just putting this up incase ayone else has had this....
I have one final payment to make to these re my old bank of Ireland Credit card.
When I got home last night there was a letter to ring them and I noticed the balance showning on the letter was incorrect and showing I owed over £500.00 and not the £100.00 I actually owe.
I rang them, they said I was in arrears...I said I wasnt, and could prove payments had been made, I did a print off from my bank statement of all my Standing Orders showing the payments made to them every month and fax it through.
Which I did, along with a copy of a letter sent by them to me in August giving me their payment details (its on the bottom of the statement they send out)
I spoke to the agent first thing this morning informing her I had sent the fax and what it included...she was meant to ring me back...since then I have been unable to get in contact with them....I will try again after lunch

I had this happen with a company, and I had to keep sending in faxes, they wouldn't let me speak to the same person twice [said they couldn't transfer calls internally!] and never ever got back to me. I had one person call me and, I quote said "you are lying to us, why don't you just admit it' !!!!!!!
I sent in yet another fax and this time also copied the financial ombudsman. They seem to have got the message and haven't contacted me yet. Turns out that they had changed my reference from my name to a reference number, and thus couldn't find the payments in the system. I haven't heard back after that tho, so am really none the wiser if they accept their mistake or not - time will tell when I receive a statment.... been asking for that for 3 months now though!
I would also check with them that they haven't been issuing default notices against your credit rating for the 'missed' payments.
When you next call, say 'I'll hold whilst you go and find the fax and get my record in front of you' - dont' be fobbed off by 'we'll call you back' - they won't.
It's a right b**ger when this happens - having to spend all this time and effort and getting nowhere for a less than sparkly company's fault.
Good luck.0 -
