Hi:hello:
I have picked up a triple (plaited) row of freshwater pearls at a charity shop for the princley sum of £1.50!:j They also have a pearl flower & hang in 2 sets of 3 tassles at the end, sorry I am not describing very well & will try to post a piccie later:o.
Anyway, I bought them with a view to making them into something else for Xmas pressies (Yes, I am thinking that far ahead), maybe 2 sets of peal necklaces interspearsed with small silver or gold coloured beads & matching stud ear-rings. The problem is I have never ever made any jewellery in my life:rolleyes:. I don't have any jewellery making equipment or bits & bobs to start me off. Does anyone have any advice on how to get started, where to buy the necesasry stuff cheaply etc?
Many thanks

I make my own jewelry and found a lot of cheap stuff on ebay, will try and find you some links later, gotta pop out for a bit.
also to add, you can sometimes pick up bargain fishing line from angling shops, which works well for stringing onto.0 -
Hi Lillibet,
There is lots of advice and links on this older thread that should help:
Learning to make fashion jewellery
I'll add your thread to that one later to keep all the replies together.

There are some great forums about crafts and jewellery making. I've been making jewellery for a couple of years and started off buying all my stuff on ebay. When I first started I bought some pliers (round nose and flat), stringing material (tiger tail and nylon thread), jump rings (to attach clasps), lobster clasps, and crimp beads.
The website I go on is http://www.craftsbycarolyn.co.uk/phpBB2/ which has lots of different sections and has great members who can help you out with suggestions and advice.Grocery budget in 2023 £2279.18/£2700Grocery budget in 2022 £2304.76/£2400Grocery budget in 2021 £2107.86/£2200Grocery budget in 2020 £2193.02/£2160Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £3650
