Husbands debt discovered....need advice please!

Your story is similar to mine in many ways! My husband is over 100K in debt and I knew nothing about it until he confessed about Oct/Nov last year. We had nothing to show for it so I never suspected - because for the last 5 years it has spiralled completely out of control as he borrowed on CCs to pay off other CCs and the interest just kept piling on.

I came on this site for advice and was pointed in the direction of CCCS - who were brilliant. Have you phoned them yet?

Your husband will have to talk to them himself about his specific debts, but they are more than happy to talk to partners to allay fears and explain the processes etc. they are completely non-judgemental and they know their stuff.

The daft thing is if my husband had told me what was going on years ago I could have helped him out - but he thought I would leave him - which I would never do! We came so close to losing everything - but now he is on a DMP - admittedly for 10 years! His credit rating is screwed (don't know how much it affects mine because it wasn't my debt) but that has to be a good thing ;-) ... but we can see the future at least and it isn't all doom and gloom.
