Acceptable to service car on credit prior to BR?

Hi
I'm planning on filing for BR mid feb, once I've got forms sorted.
My car, only vehicle, worth £500, is booked in for annual service next week. I need the car to take my daughter to/from school. I can only pay for the service on credit card.
Will the OR consider this acceptable or not?
Thanks!

Officially that is a bad thing to do.
Although it does seem that a lot of OR's turn a blind eye if it is for something essential like that and only a modest sum. Up to you if you want to risk it really.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Hi debtee,
As fermi points out it's technically not the thing to do, but if you need the car for your job and transporting children, then I would say it's classed as essential expenditure, and wouldn't be commented on unless it was a four figure repair bill. That's only my opinion, I hasten to add.;)
