  • I found out why the ex isn't very good at giving me money.

He owes £7k on a loan and about £5k on a credit card. He has a £730 overdraft and as it is unauthorised they are charging him £15 per day!!

Really makes me angry as the majority of my debts are from being with him and him promising me "Put it your card, I'll pay it back". So Im trying really hard to pay my debts off and dont get money from him because he has started to run up debts in his own name.

I paid £40 council tax arrears yesterday, only another 3.5 years of payments to them now

Was angry about ex debts yesterday so forgot to eat lunch, didnt have time to make packed lunch and ended up spending on food at work.

Then today I manged to get 5.5 hours of overtime which is good, but had to buy more food as I had lunch and missed out on dinner at home. I've kept a spending diary and can really see just how much I wasted on food at work already this week - shocking to think i was spending that nealry everyday.
Dinner and coffee yesterday £7 after discount and salad and coffee today £4.60
    Lightbulb moment Dec 2005 - debt £23700

    June 2010 - £17984.21

    Hi Glittermonkey

It looks like you are working hard to deal with your situation which is commendable.
If your paying creditors by DD be cautious as they are a payment amount the creditors control, so you may want to switch to SO which you control.
Form your posts you really need to find out your full balances to really see how much of a dent in your debt you have made at this point. It may be worth you seeking some independent advice on your situation at this point as alternative avenues may be open which may be better for you. You can try our online advice facility called Debt Remedy where you can complete a financial statement and be provided with advice on the best way to deal with your situation.

    Good luck
