Am I safe moving my pension fund to Scottish Widows??
Yes. Scottish widows hold your pension in trust so there is no finanical liability to them anyway. Only if you hold 100% in LloydsTSB shares within the pension do you really have any link to Scottish Widows. Is there a pensions performance league table?
No. It doesnt work that way. Pensions are the contract but you can place different investments across a range of risks inside of that pension.
League tables would fail as you cannot compare a fixed interest fund against a fund investing in China. China may beat the fixed interest fund by 50% one year but lose 50% the next.
The most important part about any pension (or investment) is where and how you invest the money. Not the provider that sends the statement out each year.
