15k court debt how can i delay payment

I lost in court and the court order says i must pay the other person 15k
Can i delay the payment ie i can't afford to pay it all
Do i ask for a payment order or is that just for bankrupts ?
Can they search for all my accounts and take my small amount of savings ?
Do i make a suggestion and offer say 300 per month ?
sorry there are lots of questions plse help ?

Hi - firstly welcome to MSE
If you wish to pay by instalments you can make an application to vary the order that was made. You can do this using the form from the first link below. There is a £35.00 court fee to make this application but you may not have to pay this if you are in receipt of certain benefits or on a low income (the second link is for further information on this. Lastly there is a link to a court leaflet regarding what to do if you cannot pay your judgment - Hope this helps x x

There is a method of enforcement called a third party debt order whereby they can get a freeze on a bank account and have the funds transferred to them. They dont need to know the account number or sort code but they do need to know the banks name. They can also order you to attend court for questionning where you have to declare everything including account numbers and sort codes under oath. However, an installment order can prevent these from happening.
Have a read of the leaflets below - they are designed primarilly for the claimants but it will give you a bit more info. x x
