Quit Smoking and Boozing for Lent, save ££££

I have today decided that I am going to quit smoking and drinking for lent, I plan on keeping the smoking quit and see about the alcohol. I figure that I can save a fortune and do wonders for my health and wellbeing. I want to feel like a member of the human race again! I'm a heavy smoker and drinker so anticipate that this won't be a walk in the park.
My plan is as follows:
Take it one day at a time.
Keep up with daily doses of vitamins, minerals, milk thistle etc to restore those that my drinking and smoking have depleted.
Medidation and deep breathing.
Visualisation of a healthy booze and nicotine free me.
Lots of water and a healthy diet to keep my blood sugar levels on an even keel.
Tea made from Mulungu root for the first few days to help calm and relax me.
Lots of walking and exercise.
Writing in my diary.
Keep myself busy with nice activities.
If anyone would like to join in then the more the merrier, if not I would appreciate your support when things are tough!

Lent starts Wednesday doesn't it?
Maybe make it a bit broader - give up something for Lent - 40 days without a particular treat could save a lot of money for some peopleNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Are you going to do a log on here?.....0

I'm planning on keeping a log yes, and lent does start on Wednesday, so it'll pancakes with wine and fags tomorrow!
Gemzie - giving up anything that costs money and is a treat is a good idea. I agree we could all save a fortune on little things!Debt at highest: approx £23,150 :eek:Debt at LBM: £18550:eek:Debt now: £18550 :rolleyes:0
