for those of you that like chicken and dont know already, place the chicken breast on a board and carefully slice from one side to the other (about half way down)but dont cut all the way,you can then 'open' the breast and it will look like a heart shapeI

I want to cook my husband a lovely three course meal for Valentine's day this Thursday but don't want to break the bank - does anyone have any suggestions of something nice that wont break the bank? He likes most things (apart from mushrooms!) and can't be too garlicy as he has a job interview the next day..
Your suggestions/advice would be greatly apprecaited.

Im doing a carbonara with tagliatelle. Pancetta cubes are on offer in sainsburys but you can use smoked bacon if you like. There are only a few ingredients - double cream, bacon, white wine, black pepper, parmesan and eggs.
I have the full recipe at home if you would like it.
Im doing a choc fondue for dessert as ive got some choclate and will be buying the cream for the main course, very sexy;)0 -
I'm doing the same for my hubby. But as he's not home from work till 8.30pm.I'm making as much as I can in advance. We're having samosas with salad and a cucumber raita. For main course I'm doing Steak with oven chips and veg,for pudding I'm making chocolate mousse with strawberries.I know its not the most exciting menu but I wanted it to be things that were quick to cook and that we enjoy.I'm going to decorate the table with fresh flowers and candles. There'll be a bottle of wine and me in my sexiest nightie. What more could any man want:rotfl:

Hi SkintMonkey,
There's a recent thread on this that may help so I'll add your thread to it as it helps to keep all the replies together.
As well as the thread that Penny has linked to these threads might give you some ideas too:
