Really great recipe website...

Hello all,

Not sure if anyone uses this, but I've just found a great recipe website - it has everything from food to home made cosmetics. It's got a lot of adverts and the weights and measures are given as American units, but it looks really useful...

Hope this helps someone :)

Thanks nicifer, I looked at the site and it is really interesting. I love allrecipes, but this is fascinating. I love the Amish recipes and will try some of them. American cooking is such a mix of all European nations put through the American mincer.

    Thanks again. :j

    This looks simple and tasty

It is really fried bacon and onions with sour cream and poured over pasta. I'm certainly going to use that.

The Mennonite and Amish recipes are what I've looked at so far. Really good, frugal food.

I knew about Amish through general knowledge and quilting. It was after their response to the tragedy in the school that my respect grew. I then saw a TV programme about their lives and it was so interesting. DH told me that the local hospitals give Amish patients huge discounts because they pay promptly and in cash.

    Amazing baby food recipes.

This is the last edit - look at the cowboy recipes. Now how cool is that!
  • Mmm that does sound good, think I'll be trying that one too :)

I don't know much about Amish food, I'll have a wee look. The baby foods do look good, didn't spot that before! That'll come in handy in a few months :)

The stew recipes are tempting me, especially with all the rubbish weather lately!!

I hadn't realised that I'd spent about an hour reading through the various bits of this site. I have to say I was knocked out by the cowboy food. It is the most interesting recipe site I've seen, so much variety. :D
