Credit card dedt

My son has a barclaycard he had problem about a year ago with his finance and got behind with payments. But since january 2007 he has paid £750 back on a dedt of £2895. Just got his Jan 2008 bill in and he now owes £2925.
He currently pays £25 per week.
Anybody know if they would stop the interest or some thing or he will never get this bill cleared.
cheers

Is £25 the maximum he can afford to pay each week? It is possible for card companies to freeze the interest, but he would need to explain that he is in difficulty-talking to one of the free debt charities would be a good move, as they can either request this for your son, or advise him about the best way to speak to them. He will clear it!0

Hi werindedt,
As the previous posters have mentioned, we'll need a breakdown of his monthly incomings and outgoings in order to be able to help you cut this debt down. Please try to account for everything you can possibly think of.0 -
My ex has had recent problems with Barclaycard, they put up interest payments and minimum payments and didn't alter his direct debit so his balance ended up going over and getting charged for that.
Not sure how he has got on with them as its his business but it could be worth reading through statements to see if interest rate has altered and then ringing them and tackling them on it.0
