How can I find someone????

I need to find out who was living at a particular address back in 1968/69/70.

I dont know where to start. Would the local council have electoral rolls going back to that date do you think, or is there anywhere else I can go that won't cost the earth?????

Thanks

  • There's a website (https://www.missing-you.net) where u can post details of the address and hope that someone from the area would know. Otherwise, could you not post the address on here - there's loads of us who may be able to help.

If they owned the place you can find name(s) in the title register - £2 from

Not listed on Friends Reunited I tried already - found missing you website yesterday and posted (but am going back to add address) and no, they didn't own the house, so cant try the land registry.

But thanks to all anyway! Off to Slough council tomorrow to see if they keep records (And I just know the answer, Yes We do, but oh dear, that year - there was a fire you see and some records were lost.......)

try the local library, they often have birth deaths & marriages on micro fiche etc. especially helpful if you have a marriage/birth/death date or full names.

Loopy - Thats kind of the problem - we dont actually have a name - thats what we're looking for!

We know that he lived at a particular address for a few years so we want to find out who. We're looking for hubbys dad.

We had a lead - a box of things for hubby. On a photo of him as a child is an address label on the back. This person is still in the area, but while it could be a "clue" left behind as to who his Dad is, it could quite easily be a label of the photographer/developer who took the photo (but its not a professional type photo).

Obviously, before we go banging this guys door down, we wanted to see if his name comes up on the address we know hubbys Dad lived at.

    Confusing???? I am!!
