Hazelnut syrup - is there an alternative?

I usually buy this from Whittards to put in coffee but my local store have not had any for some time and neither is it on the website. (According to staff there is a supply problem).

Googling and eBaying shows various other versions of it but it's quite pricey especially when you factor in delivery.

Do any cooks here know if there is such a thing as a hazelnut essence (rather like a vanilla essence) that might do the job just as well except perhaps just by using a few drops?
