hi,
i am currently paying a small amount to my creditors as i am in financial trouble, up until now i have been paying my mobile telephone with orange as i need it for work, i dont think i can carry on with this now, i still have 7 months on the contract, what can they do if they dont agree to reduce the tariff, and i dont pay!!! does a utility company have more rights with the courts than the credit card company?

they have no more rights than any one else!!!
Technically they could sue you for breach of contract ( howver if you don't owe them money its unklikely they will)
i think it likely that if you have been a good customer explain your probs then they will simply change your tarriff. If not just tell them you are cancelling the dd and as of now are officilly in a DMP and they are the same as any other creditoir.
